On a break…
Hey everyone! Just a reminder that Wired Rock Café is on half-term next week! We’ll see you the week after as normal… Have a good half term everyone
We are here to stay…
From time to time Wired Rock Café occasionally pop up in the media.
Whilst we’re flattered to be mentioned or even the subject of media attention, they sometimes try to predict what happens by writing their articles ahead of publishing, or rarely, researching their facts.
So with that in mind I’d like to take this opportunity to say that Wired Rock Café is open, and will continue to be open for the foreseeable future.
What do we mean by this?
In a nutshell Wired will continue, even if it means in a different form to our drop in sessions, even if we have to use other locations, we will survive.
And you shouldn’t believe everything you read in the papers

The new website – in detail
So as you are aware, the wired rock website has been upgraded, and now we’re going to pick apart the features, show you how they work, and why we chose the upgrade we did.
So to start us off…
a new mailing list option (allowing bulk e-mailing of users quickly and efficiently regarding any urgent messages)
The mailing list option isn’t really a feature that users can use, but it does allow you to sign up for e-mails about Wired from the site directly. This means that should we need to communicate out an urgent message regarding a particular session, we can easily e-mail quickly and easily. Of course, you can choose the degree of e-mails that you receive. By default ALL users will have their details added to the critical list, which is used to communicate really urgent messages like closures, last minute changes, and other critical updates. This is to ensure that all users are reached as soon as possible. Users that request to be removed from this list will be removed from all other mailing lists, as it will be a condition to signing up to the mailing lists that the critical list is included.
Users then have the options to signing up to our important mailing list which is recommended as it includes details of wired sessions like half term, or holiday sessions, changes in times, or other important information that we recommend having.
Lastly, we have our generic mailing list that is used for items that don’t fit in the above categories. Mainly requests for help, information about sessions, promotions, and concert meetings.
Mobile viewing option (it’s true! try visiting the site from your mobile phone!)
Yes, this is probably the most exciting option for the site. When you visit the site from any mobile phone, it will automatically display correctly for your phone! In addition for smart phone users, we can now offer applications that will allow you to update the site remotely, comment or post items wherever you are! This is due to our site being powered by WordPress, and this means that you can download the WordPress applications to use with our site. Simply view the mobile information page!
multi-user design (Yes this version of our site allows users to post comments, reviews, music, and more!)
Yes, our website supports you making comments, and suggestions, and in certain areas, making posts of your own! (You will need to be ‘trusted’ though. I.E. make a certain number of sensible comments until you are not deemed a possible trouble maker)
